Private Daily Privacy Policy
Private Daily is a privacy-first journaling app designed to let you record mood check-ins and short reflections on your iPhone without creating an account. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
1. Summary
Private Daily is built to keep your entries on your device. The app does not require account creation and, in the current version, does not transmit your journal entries to a remote backend controlled by the developer.
2. Information Stored by the App
Private Daily may store the following information locally on your device:
- Mood check-ins and written reflections you create
- Timestamps related to entries
- Reminder preferences such as whether reminders are enabled and the selected reminder time
- Basic app preferences such as appearance settings
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- No account registration data is required
- No journal content is uploaded to a developer-controlled server in this version
- No advertising identifiers are used for tracking
- No in-app analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs are intentionally included in this version
4. Notifications
If you enable daily reminders, Private Daily requests permission to send local notifications on your device. Notification scheduling is handled using Apple system frameworks. Reminder preferences are stored locally on your device.
5. Exported Data
Private Daily lets you export your entries in formats such as CSV or JSON. When you choose to export, the export file is created on your device and may then be shared by you using Apple system sharing features. Once you share an exported file, its handling is governed by the app or service you choose.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your entries are stored locally on your device using Apple platform storage technologies. While reasonable efforts are made to support a privacy-first design, no method of electronic storage is completely secure. You are responsible for securing access to your device.
7. Third-Party Services
Private Daily relies on Apple-provided system frameworks and App Store infrastructure to operate, distribute the app, and process purchases. Apple may process certain information according to its own privacy practices.
8. Children’s Privacy
Private Daily is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-controlled backend in this version.
9. International Users
Because the app is distributed internationally through the App Store, users may access the app from different jurisdictions. In the current version, journal entries remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If material changes are made, the revised policy will be posted with an updated effective date.
