Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Chronic Care - MediTrend is a device-first app for personal health tracking, medication reminders, trend review, and clinic visit preparation. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
The current version is designed around three principles: collect as little as possible, upload as little as possible, and keep data on your device by default.
2. Information You May Enter
When using the app, you may choose to enter:
- Profile details, such as name, date of birth, height, chronic condition tags, and notes.
- Health records, such as weight, waist size, blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate, blood oxygen, symptoms, timestamps, and notes.
- Medication information, such as medicine name, dosage, instructions, reminder times, medication logs, stock count, and refill threshold.
- Backup files or PDF summaries that you choose to import or export.
This information is generally entered by you or generated locally by the app based on your actions, such as dose logs and exported files.
3. How Data Is Stored
The current version does not require account registration and does not rely on a developer-operated backend for core features.
- Your profiles, health metrics, medication plans, and dose logs are stored locally on your device by default.
- The app does not upload this information to a developer-operated server unless that behavior is explicitly introduced in a future version and disclosed to you.
- When you export a PDF or JSON backup, the file is saved to the location you choose, and whether you share it is entirely up to you.
4. Permissions
To provide key features, the app may request these system permissions:
- Notifications: for medication reminders and refill alerts.
- Face ID / Touch ID: for App Lock authentication to help protect local health records.
- File access: for importing backups, exporting backups, and sharing PDF summaries.
You can change these permissions in your device settings. If you deny them, related features may not work as expected.
5. How Information Is Used
Your information is used only to provide the features you choose to use, including:
- Displaying and organizing health records.
- Generating trend charts and health summaries.
- Creating local medication reminders and refill alerts.
- Exporting PDFs or backup files.
- Enabling local security features such as App Lock.
Your health records are not used for advertising personalization and are not sold.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
The developer does not proactively share your personal information except in the following situations:
- You choose to export or share files using system or third-party tools.
- Disclosure is required by law or by a valid request from an authorized authority.
- Disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect your rights, the rights of others, or public safety as permitted by law.
7. Data Security
- The app offers an optional App Lock feature to reduce the risk of unauthorized local access.
- You are responsible for securing your device, device passcode, and any exported backup files.
- Saving backup files in shared or public locations may create additional privacy risks.
No software or device environment can guarantee absolute security. You should use additional safeguards if needed.
8. Your Choices
You may, through the app or device settings:
- View, edit, or delete information you entered.
- Disable notifications or App Lock.
- Export, back up, or delete local data.
- Stop using the app and remove related data and backup files from your device.
9. Children
If a minor uses the app, a parent or guardian should review this policy and supervise how health information is entered, exported, and shared.
10. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated if product capabilities, data handling practices, or legal requirements change. Updated versions may be made available through the app, a website, or another appropriate channel.
